Is ARAM Mayhem permanent?

Not officially, but it isn't going anywhere soon. Riot has never called ARAM Mayhem permanent. It has had no end date since early 2026, it gets a new Set about every four months, and in May 2026 Riot said it was already planning Mayhem updates for 2027.

Status checked on 29 October 2026, during Set 3 (patch 26.21).

Set 3, Journey to Stardom, in patch 26.21: Headliner bands, 35 new augments and 16 removed.

What Riot actually said

The clearest statement is from Riot's dev update of 27 May 2026: the team is “working on our planned updates to ARAM: Mayhem for 2026” and “starting planning for 2027”. It says nothing about the word permanent, or about player numbers.

The mode also sits in the client as a regular queue, not a limited-time one, while the summer spin-off Classic-ish was flagged as limited. Riot's support page for the mode explains the current rules without an end date.

What does change is the content. Every Set adds and removes augments and mechanics, so tier lists and builds from an older Set go stale. The patch notes page lists what came and went in the latest patch.

Questions and answers

Is ARAM Mayhem permanent?

Not officially. Riot has never called it permanent, but it has had no end date since early 2026, and in May 2026 Riot said it is planning Mayhem updates for 2027.

When does ARAM Mayhem end?

There is no announced end date. The current Set (Set 3) started on 21 October 2026 in patch 26.21.

Is ARAM Mayhem leaving?

Nothing points that way as of 29 October 2026. The mode keeps getting new Sets, about one every four months, and Riot's own plans run into 2027.

When is the next ARAM Mayhem update?

Riot hasn't given a date. The Sets so far came in February, June and October 2026, so the next one would fit around February 2027. That is a pattern, not an announcement.
